Failure to pair with wireless mouse

Failure to pair with wireless mouse: I have purchased and successfully installed a plugable Bluetooth USB Adapter (it shows up in my list of devices in Windows 7 with a message that it is operating properly). However, I can’t pair this with the Inland Pro Bluetooth Optical mouse. When I try to add the device in Windows 7, it does not appear in the Add a Device window; only the message “searching for devices – make sure your device is discoverable” appears.
