Extended Monitor M3 Macbook Pro Low Res

Hi

I am connecting a MBP via the supplied USB0C cable to a LG display via a UD-ULTC4k but am only getting:

1920x1080 max resolution with a HDMI cable
3840x1080 resolution with a Displayport cable

Connecting an HDMI from the laptop directly to the monitor works just fine getting me to the recommended 5120x 1440 resolution.

Hi Joel,

Thanks for reaching out to Plugable support! I’d be happy to help with that.

Looking at the specifications for that display and. the docking station I believe the maximum resolution that should be achievable from any port on the port on the docking station would be 3840x1080 at up to 60 Hertz. I am not sure why you are getting a lower resolution option for the HDMI connection, but you may need to view more resolution settings from the Display tab.

Here is some information on how to access more display resolution settings:

Once on the Display tab, hold down the OPTION/ALT key while clicking on the Scaled button.

Hopefully this should help.
