Ethernet USB adapter working under Win 10 but undetected under Linux/Ubuntu

Hi,

I recently bought a 2,5Gb USB network adapter and it’s working fine under Win 10.
Unfortunately, I’m mainly using Linux/Ubuntu, but the adapter is not recognized. It does not even light the adapter light as it does when plugged in under Windows.
I tried to connect the adapter to my external monitor (it’s working using Windows), and directly to my laptop as well, but in both cases the adapter is not recognized.
My laptop is a Dell XPS 13 2020.

Here’s the result of uname -a :
Linux XPS13 5.8.0-44-generic #50-Ubuntu SMP Tue Feb 9 06:29:41 UTC 2021 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Could you help me making my adapter work ?
Thanks !

Hi Tommos,

We’ve tested this adapter fairly extensively under Linux and have not encountered this issue.

Please reach out to us via email at support@plugable.com and I will help to gather more information from your system to see if we can trace the issue.
