ethernet takes 10 minutes to wake up. Are there any fixes anyone knows about?

When waking my Surface Pro 3 from sleep, Pluggable USB 3.0 plugged in ethernet on network can take as long as 10 minutes to wake up and re-find the network. Anyone else have this issue? Any solutions? Exceedingly annoying. Thanks in advance!

Is the adapter plugged into a hub by any chance? This can cause the problem you are seeing. If not, please let me know.
