I have a TBT4-UD5 device connected to my Macbook. The ethernet port shows as USB 10/100/1000 LAN in Network settings with a self-assigned IP address. I have tried the reboot/reset process and also switched out the cable. The link light on the TBT4-UD5 shows both red and green solid lights.
Please advise.

My impression based on your description is that when you say, ‘faulty’ cable you are referring to the Ethernet network cable.
Can you please confirm if my impression is correct?
