Ethernet Not Working

My ethernet port is not working on the USB 3.0 Dual 4K Docking Station I just purchased. Everything else is working fine. I searched the support page, found the below post, and took every step outlined in the post:

The lights in the back of the dock are solid green and flashing amber, but I’m still seeing “Unidentified Network / No Internet” as the error. When I hardwire in with another adaptor I do not get this error. What can I do so I don’t have to return this unit? Please help. Thanks!

This question was submitted and resolved via email. The network connection was restored by connecting the docking station to the router directly, the cable was inadvertently connected to a second Ethernet port on the modem that was not providing a DHCP ( Dynamic Host Control Protocol ) service.
