Ethernet not connecting at 1.0 Gbps

The computer is a Spectre x360 15 ch0xx. Pulling up the control panel for network connections and clicking on the adapter, the status says 100.0 Mbps. Cat 6e cord from the docking station to the gigabit switch. All other Windows computers on the switch have gigabit ethernet cards, the status on each one says 1.0 Gbps they all use cat 6e cable to connect to the switch. I tested all cables with a cable tester. Drivers for the plugable are up-to-date. I am at a loss as to what to check next. it’s really not acceptable as I bought the docking station because it advertised gigabit speed.
How do I fix this?

Hello Mark,

Thank you for contacting Plugable support! Sorry to hear about this issue. I’d be more than happy to assist you.

It could be driver related. It seems unlikely to be a cable/port issue on the network side of things given the testing you’ve done. One thing to mention is to make sure there’s nothing in between the switch and the dock (ie no VoIP phones, things like that). Also ensure the network is operating in full duplex mode.

We have a troubleshooting tool that helps us find out what is going on in situations like this. Please plug the dock into your computer, then go to this page and follow the instructions there:

Please don’t hesitate to let us know of other questions.

Thanks again for contacting Plugable support and best wishes!
