DVI output on USB-C docking station not working (MacBook Pro High Sierra)

Hi, just bought a USB-C docking station for my MacBook Pro.

Setup was easy (thanks), all periferals working except DVI output. I can connect up to two HDMI monitors and they are detected, however, even with only the DVI monitors plugged in, the OS isn’t detecting a monitor.

The monitor and cable work fine connected to my desktop (windows) PC

Thanks for your help!

Hello Alastair,

Thank you for contacting Plugable support! Sorry to hear about this issue. I’d be more than happy to assist you.

Since both the HDMI ports are working we know that the drivers for the dock should be fine (the 2K and DVI both operate from the DisplayLink chipset in the dock) and the DVI should be active. Since it’s not working, it’s most likely either a defective dock, or the cable connecting between monitor and dock is bad. In rare cases it can be an incompatible monitor as well.

Have you been able to try more than one DVI cable and/or monitor connected to the port?

Please don’t hesitate to let us know of other questions.

Thanks again for contacting Plugable support and best wishes!
