I recently purchased a 2017 MBP 15" and would like to set up two additional monitors that have an optimal resolution of 1920x1080 each and DVI-D inputs. I would like to do so with the least amount of additional accessories. I’m looking at the Plugable TBT3-UDV but I’m not sure about the adapters I will need in addition to the TBT3.
Can I use one DVI to DP & one DVI to USB-C cables to connect the two monitors?
Thanks for reaching out to us, I am happy to answer your questions!
The Thunderbolt 3 Docking Station TBT3-UDV ( https://plugable.com/products/tbt3-udv ) is capable of one native DisplayPort output which will require an active adapter to DVI to drive one monitor. Unfortunately we do not make a DisplayPort to DVI Active Adapter and this will need to be purchased separately. For the second monitor a Type-C to DVI adapter such as our USBC-DVI ( https://plugable.com/products/usbc-dvi/ ) can connect to the docking station’s additional Type-C port and drive the second monitor using a DVI-to-DVI cable ( not provided ).
