Dual displays fuzzy, particularly smaller text

Hello,

I am using the Plugable USB 3.0 2K HDMI with my Lenovo Ideapad 110 (http://www.officedepot.com/a/products…). I am using Windows 10. I have two Asus 21.5" monitors (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00…).

When running the monitors in extended screen at the recommended resolution (1920 x 1080), I noticed that text displays as lighter color (grey rather than black) and fuzzier than I if I only have one monitor. Images are slightly fuzzier as well. The effect is not very big but it’s big enough that I can tell the difference, and it is annoying. It is worse in excel, since excel has a lot of small text. Since I use excel a lot, I find this very annoying.

It is worse on my second monitor (the one that is using the Plugable device).

I am considering returning my Plugable device. I look at my screens a lot (8+ hours a day). After just 1-2 hours, I can tell the difference between a screen that doesn’t have this problem and one that does. My eyes feel more tired from looking at the slightly fuzzy text.

Does anyone know why this is happening or how I can fix it? Thank you.

Also, to add, I turned the sharpness on my monitors up to 100. It helped a little, but not enough to fix the problem.
