Dual display Docking station for both Windows & Mac

Hi,

I am about to set up my Home Office and looking for a docking station. Plugable seems to me as a very good options as most of the comments and reviews regarding your products are very good.

I intend to have two 1080p monitors (HDMI) linked to the docking station.

I have a couple of Windows laptops at home as well as a Macbook Pro (early 2013).

Can you please suggest a product which should work with all?

Hello Raj,

Thanks for reaching out and posting on our Get Satisfaction forums, as well as for considering Plugable for your needs. Based off the description of the setup you’re looking to achieve, I would recommend the Plugable Universal Dual Display Docking Station (https://plugable.com/products/ud-3900).

This docking station connects over USB 3.0 to the computer, and allows for two external monitors to be connected. It features one HDMI and one DVI port, and includes a DVI to HDMI adapter so you could connect both monitors via HDMI.

In the past, DisplayLink powered devices (such as this hub) were not recommended for use with Mac products, however if you are running macOS 10.13 (High Sierra) this docking station would work well for your needs I believe. For additional information about DisplayLink and macOS compatibility, please see the link below as we cover it in a lot of detail!

One last thing I will mention is that when installing the DisplayLink drivers on macOS 10.13, the security of the operating system will likely prevent the driver from loading properly until it has been approved. I wrote a blog post detailing the issue, why it occurs, and the steps to take to resolve it here:

I hope this information is helpful, but if you need additional details or have other questions please let me know. We’re here to help!
