DP Monitor keeps waking up briefly when laptop puts displays to sleep

I have a fairly new TBT4-UDZ and when the computer puts the displays to sleep one monitor keeps waking up every 10 - 15 seconds saying there is no DP signal. (laptop is not set to sleep, only the displays are set to sleep)

The computer is a Dell Latitude 7490 the monitor is a HP P27h G5 on FW 1.4.10, running Win 11 Pro 24H2

I’ve tried reseating connections I’ve also swapped the monitor from one DP port to the other DP on the dock and no change in the issue.

I have no issues with any of the monitors when the laptop wakes up the displays. I noticed one other poster had a similar issue on a Mac but it was a TBT3 dock

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Plugable support! Sorry to hear about this issue. I’d be more than happy to assist you.

This type of issue can be caused by several different factors. Commonly we’ll see where drivers can impact sleep/wake behavior, but it’s also possible the dock firmware may need to be updated if it’s having a compatibility problem with the display.

To begin troubleshooting we have a tool that helps us find out what is going on in situations like this. If able, please plug the dock with your monitors attached to it into your computer, then go to this page and follow the instructions there: http://plugable.com/support/plugdebug I can then take a look for anything that stands out as a possible cause and offer some next steps.

When emailing us the diagnostics results as an attachment, please be sure to mention ticket # 489941 in the subject line so we can match things up. Please do not post the diagnostics results here!

Additionally, if you would be interested in proactively trying to check and update the dock firmware, we have a knowledgebase article and guide here: https://kb.plugable.com/question/1707049

Please don’t hesitate to let us know of other questions.

Thanks again for contacting Plugable support and best wishes!

I tried the firmware update as my dock was not on the latest firmware but unfortunately that did not make any difference with the issue.

When I get a chance I will try the debug/logging utility.
