I am trying to catalog everything that is connected to my home network, and have a few “mystery” IP addresses in my Network list. Does a Windows network recognize the UD-3900 as a Network device with an IPv4 address?
Thanks for posting, and I would be happy to help answer your question.
Yes, the Ethernet adapter in our dock does indeed have a MAC address and typically is assigned a IPv4 address in a TCP/IP network.
You can determine the MAC address of the docking station by doing the following:
- Assuming you have Windows 8.1 or 10, while the dock is connected to your system right-click on the Start Button and select ‘Network Connections’
- From the window that appears right-click on the entry identified as ‘Plugable Ethernet’ and select ‘Status’
- From the window that appears click on the ‘Details’ button.
- The ‘Physical Address’ is the MAC address, and you can also see the IP address here as well.
