Does the USG3000 connect to a HDTV and send sound?

I’ve successfully connected my Surface Pro 3 to my HDTV using the USG 300-. However, I need it to play a video for a class and no sound transfers to the television when the video is played. Is this possible?

I am assuming you are talking about the UGA-3000 -> http://plugable.com/products/uga-3000. Sorry, no, this display adapter does video only.
