Hello. Ca you say me. Does Plugable USB 2.0 to Gigabit Ethernet LAN work with centos 6.3 64? I did not get it work, but on Fedora 17 it works very good, without additional drivers.
Thanks for posting! The plugable USB2-E1000 http://plugable.com/products/usb2-e1000/ has built in drivers on kernel versions 3.2 and above.
Fedora 17 is on those newer kernels, but Centos 6.3 is on older – that’s the difference and why Centos isn’t working.
Do you have an ability to upgrade kernel?
Thanks and best wishes!
Bernie
No… i dont have…
[root@ws1 ~]# uname -r
2.6.32-279.19.1.el6.x86_64
I got cd with drivers and i has drivers for linux, but manual only for ubuntu. I am talking about “module-assistant”. Maybe do you know how can I install module-assistant on centos?
Thank you.
I got it
I installed RPM from here http://elrepo.org/linux/elrepo/el6/x8…
http://elrepo.org/linux/elrepo/el6/x8…
That is all. It is working
Thanks so much for self-solving and for posting where the RPMs for those older versions are hosted!
