docking station wont allow multiple monitors with vga connection

I bought the plugable usb 2.0 docking station because it supported docking any brand of laptop to an extra display, and that it supported vga monitors. My laptop does not acknowledge the other monitor when it is connected through the docking station.

Hi Tami,

Thanks for posting here! I’m sorry to know that the system is not detecting the external monitor when connected through the Graphics port on the Plugable Docking Station UD-160-A. Lets figure out what is causing the issue and how to resolve it.

Some quick questions to understand the setup and the issue better:

  1. What is the make and model of the system and the current version of OS installed?

  2. Is the blue LED on the Plugable Docking Station UD-160-A lit?

  3. Are the other ports on the Plugable Docking Station UD-160-A (Ethernet port, Audio ports and the four USB ports) working without issues?

  4. If you plug in a simple USB device (like a mouse) to the dock, does the green LED (below the Blue LED) light up? Does the mouse work or fail?

  5. Do you know which version of drivers were installed on the system for the Plugable Docking Station UD-160-A?

Once you post back with this information, we will figure out the next steps.

Thanks for your patience while we figure this out!

Regards,
Roze
