Display and charging not working

I have two HP laptops though different models. Both have USB-C connectors. I also have a Pluggable a docking station model UD-ULTCDL. When I plug one laptop (the older one) into this using the port, everything works, the display, charging, connections to USB devices, SD drive. Didn’t do anything just worked (yay). When I plug in the other, I get usb devices and the SD drive work but no display and no power. I get a message with something about displayport limitations. I am using the exact same cables; no changes from one success to one failure. I updated the Pluggable driver on the new laptop but it had no effect. I have directly plugged in the monitor by HDMI connector and it works just fine. Any ideas?

Hi Larry,

Thank you for contacting Plugable! I am sorry to hear that your UD-ULTCDL docking station is not functioning as expected with your new laptop, and would be happy to provide additional support.

To help diagnose the issue, may I ask you to please keep the device connected to your new laptop and everything still attached (even if not working as expected) and send us the output of our diagnostic utility PlugDebug? → https://plugable.com/pages/plugdebug

Once you have the logs, simply send an email to support@plugable.com with the subject line of “Ticket 408410” so that we can prioritize that case and match it to this inquiry.

If you could provide your Amazon Order ID (or other proof of purchase) associated with your Plugable device, I would be happy to check on your warranty status as well.

Thank you for giving us the chance to help!
