Control which COM port for the USB to Serial converter.

I have a USB to Serial converter and I when I connect it it is COM3, I want it to be COM1 to use software that is looking for COM1. How do I connect it as COM1?

Thanks for contacting Plugable Support, I’ll be happy to help. On Windows you can assign the COM port number to your USB to Serial device through device manager. Just click on Ports (COM & LPT), then click on the Port Settings tab. Click on the Advanced button and there you’ll be able to set the COM number.
