Connecting tbt3-udc1 to Asus Thunderbolt ex4 PCIe card

Hi, I use a tbt3-udc1 for connecting monitors and peripherals to a laptop, and it works great. I was wondering if I can connect theThunderbolt cable to the output on a Asus Thunderbolt 4 PCIe card on my PC (Asus z690 motherboard) so that all I have to do is change over the Thunderbolt cable without having to change cables for monitors and peripherals. My main concern is that the Asus card provides 100watts power (and the plugable docking station). Will this cause a problem? Many thanks Gary.

Hello Gary,

Thank you for reaching out to Plugable Support!

In general, we have had very mixed and inconsistent results with our docks and Thunderbolt add-in cards (mostly user reported), to the point where we actually do not recommend using our docks with them. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Thank you,

Evan
