Connecting SP4 to one VGA & one DVI monitor

I’m a bit confused on exactly which components I need to connect my Surface Pro 4 to my two monitors (one VGA & one DVI). I’ve been looking at the “Plugable USB 3.0 to VGA / DVI / HDMI Video Graphics Adapter”, but I can’t tell if this packaging has all the components for a complete install or not.

Can someone help provide a shopping list for me please?

Hello Wulff - Thanks for contacting us. It sounds like you are referring to the UGA-3000 -> http://www.plugable.com/products/uga-…. If you wanting to connect two monitors, I would recommend either two UGA-3000 display adapters or the UD-3900 -> http://www.plugable.com/products/ud-3900. For the docking station I would use the included DVI to VGA adapter for your VGA monitor and purchase an additional HDMI to DVI adapter or cable for your DVI monitor.

Hi Patric,

Thanks for the response. Yes, I was looking at the UGA-3000. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe the UGA-3000 gives greater flexibility for connecting to other displays in the future.

To clarify your response above, all I would need to purchase is: (2) UGA-3000 (includes DVI to VGA adaptor for monitor 1) and (1) HDMI to DVI adaptor/cable (for monitor 2).

Correct? No other components required?

Using two UGA-3000 display adapters is more practical if you are only connecting additional monitors, correct.

You don’t need to purchase additional adapters when using the UGA-3000 display adapters since they accommodate VGA, DVI and HDMI monitors (please see the above mentioned listing).

Patrick, the SP4 only has one USB port. How do I connect (2) UGA-3000s?

You would additionally need a USB hub.
