Connect 4 monitors to a laptop with USB-C 3.2 Gen 2

I have a Dell Precision Mobile Workstation 5750 laptop with the following specs:
Operating System: Win 10 Pro 64-bit
Processor: Intel Core i7 (10th Gen) 10750H / 2.6 GHz (5 GHz) / 12 MB Cache
Memory: 16GB
Display: 17" 1920 x 1200 / WUXGA @ 60 Hz - 133 ppi
Discrete Graphics Controller: NVIDIA Quadro T2000 with external display support for mDP/HDMI/Type-C
Interfaces: 4 x USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 (supports Thunderbolt 3, DisplayPort 1.4 Alt Mode) (Power Delivery)
** No other interfaces **
I want to connect 4 monitors to the laptop. Is it possible and if so, what is the best way?
Thanks

Hi Brad,

Thank you for reaching out to us, I am happy to help recommend a docking station and adapters to fit your needs!

Based on your description one of our USB-C Triple Display Docking Stations with a USB 3.0 graphics adapter may be a good fit to support up to four displays on this computer, these docking stations provide the following basic features:

  • Support for up to three displays
  • Support for USB devices
  • Gigabit Ethernet connectivity
  • Headphone or speaker support with either separate Headphone/Microphone ports, or a combined 3.5mm TRRS headset port

USB-C docking stations are capable of powering and charging supported USB-C laptops with USB-C Power Delivery and may be capable of replacing the laptop’s power supply depending on the system specifications and power supply rating.

One of these USB-C triple display docking stations may fit your needs:

  • UD-ULTCDL ( https://plugable.com/products/ud-ultcdl ): Our first triple display docking station provides two HDMI ports and one DVI port ( with a DVI-to-VGA adapter ) for connecting displays. One HDMI output is capable of supporting displays up to 4K at 30Hz refresh rate ( or up to 1440P at 60Hz ) while the other two outputs are limited to 1920x1200 or 1080P resolution at 60Hz refresh rate. This docking station includes four USB 3.0 Standard-A ports, one USB 3.0 Type-C port, and separate headphone and microphone ports. The docking station may provide up to 60W to supported computers and can replace a USB-C power supply rated up to 65W.
  • UD-3900PDZ ( https://plugable.com/products/ud-3900PDZ ): Our newest triple display horizontal docking station provides three HDMI ports for connecting displays. One HDMI output is capable of supporting displays up to 4K at 30Hz refresh rate ( or up to 1440P at 60Hz ) while the other two outputs are limited to 1920x1200 or 1080P resolution at 60Hz refresh rate. This docking station includes six USB 3.0 Standard-A ports, two on the front and four on the back, with combined TRRS headset port ( a single port that supports both stereo output and mono microphone input). The docking station may provide up to 60W to supported computers and can replace a USB-C power supply rated up to 65W.
  • UD-ULTC4K ( https://plugable.com/products/ud-ultc4k ): Our first triple 4k display docking station provides one HDMI port and two DisplayPort outputs for connecting displays. The HDMI output is capable of supporting displays up to 4K at 30Hz refresh rate ( or up to 1440P at 60Hz ) while the other two outputs support up to 4K resolution at 60Hz refresh rate. This docking station includes four USB 3.0 Standard-A ports, one USB 3.0 Type-C port (data only), and separate headphone and microphone ports. The docking station may provide up to 60W to supported computers and can replace a USB-C power supply rated up to 65W.

A fourth display can be connected with a USB 3.0 graphics adpater, this can be connected directly to the docking station and uses the same DisplayLink software as the dockign station. One of the following may be a good fit depending on your displays:

Please note, USB-C Triple Display docking stations require installing the DisplayLink USB 3.0 graphics software ( https://plugable.com/drivers/displaylink ), this installation requires administrative permissions on the system. If this is a computer provided by your business I recommend checking with your IT department to verify you have permissions to install the DisplayLink software. Additionally, we recommend our USB-C Triple Display Docking stations for use with office and web browsing software, due to the limited USB 3.0 bandwidth and reduced hardware graphics acceleration available to the DisplayLink software, the two DisplayLink controlled external displays may not perform well for full screen video playback, 2D or 3D graphics applications, video editing software, or some stock trading applications. The single USB-C DisplayPort Alternate Mode display will have full hardware graphics acceleration and will perform similarly to the laptop’s built-in display.

Should you elect to proceed with your purchase and find the items do not meet your need or expectations, we do offer a 30-day no-hassle return policy for all products sold by Plugable and fulfilled by Amazon. We support our products with a 2-year warranty with email based technical support.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions!
