Can't safe-eject because my device is constantly "in use"

I can’t safe-eject my USB 3.0 hard drive dock because my “Device is currently in use.” This happens all the time with this device, but I have not had this problem with other devices. Is there an easy way to fix this?

  1. Which model drive dock do you have?
  2. Are you on a Mac or a PC?
  3. Did this issue just recently start happening?

  3. I’ve been using this device for about a week. It happened occasionally with similar devices I’ve used in the past, but with this one it seems to happen regularly.



Thanks for the information. It sounds like Windows is accessing a file(s) on the drive in the docking station causing the safe-eject to fail.
