The “Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Wireless Desktop Keyboard and Mouse” does not use Bluetooth, and instead uses a standard 2.4 GHz radio signal. It should have come with a receiver that can be used for connecting both the mouse and keyboard.
It is important to note that this model uses encryption, with each set using a unique hard-coded key. You can only use the included receiver, and if it is damaged or misplaced you need to contact Microsoft for a replacement.
If you had purchased the Plugable adapter specifically for connecting your keyboard & mouse, and you don’t have any other use for it, please feel free to take advantage of Amazon’s 30-day return policy.
