I am trying to install an ake usb3 expresscard to a Toshiba satellite pro l300 laptop.
Windows 7 (32 bit) recognises the card and it shows up in the device manager under Other Devices as a universal serial bus (usb) controller.
When I try to install the software (Renesas, Freco Logic or NEC drivers) I get a warning that the device is not compatible with my hardware.
I am trying to use this expresscard card because all the existing usb ports are physically broken.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Hi John,
Happy new year! Thanks for your patience.
You mention trying several different host controller drivers. You’ll want the right one for your card. Can you say what make/model of ExpressCard USB 3.0 adapter you have?
If it’s our Plugable ECARD-USB3 ExpressCard USB 3.0 adapter (http://plugable.com/products/ecard-us… ), it uses the Renesas/NEC chipset (which is the most common). And the latest drivers for Plugable USB 3.0 host controller devices are available at http://plugable.com/drivers/renesas/
Hope that helps. Just let us know if you have a Plugable adapter and are still hitting any problems. Thanks!
