Cannot connect 3rd monitor to MacBook Pro with the usb to quad hdmi adapter

I am running a MacBook Pro 2020 13" with the Sonoma 14.4.1 operating system.
All 3 monitors functions well on ports 3 and 4 but none of the monitors will operate on ports 1 and 2. tried swapping out all 3 monitors on the 1 and 2 ports and none will work there. Limiting me to just using 2 ports. All 3 monitors are Acer 27" monitors
