CAn any USB port on the PC Be Used?

Is it necessary to use a 3.0 USB port on my PC, or can I use any port on the PC?

Thanks for posting your question here! You can connect the Plugable 7 Port USB 3.0 Hub to the system via a USB 2.0 port.

However when the Plugable 7 Port USB 3.0 Hub is connected via a USB 2.0 port, it drops down to USB 2.0 speeds and cannot use the additional bandwidth of USB 3.0.

If you are connecting USB 3.0 devices to the hub and want them to operate at USB 3.0 speeds, you would need to connect the hub to a USB 3.0 port on the system.
