Bluetooth USB adapter- connected avantree pro headset

I bought the bluetooth usb adapter via this amazon listing that i’ll post at the bottom of this post. I am trying to connect my avantree headset to it, which the first day I set up the bluetooth adapter it found the headset and let me connect… but the sound quality was VERY messed up, quiet and distorted and couldn’t hear anything properly. Today i tried to connect again, and it simply won’t. I went to my device in control panel, opened it up and hit connect, and it just says “error connecting to headset, please retry this operation” … wtf!!! i’m making sure the headset is in pairing mode, and just connected the headset to my phone to make sure that it wasn’t the headset that isn’t messed up - and it’s not. it *immediately* connected to my phone…

Thank you for posting about your Bluetooth adapter. I’m sorry about the problems connecting your headset. Usually when there is poor sound quality like you mention, the headset has been connected in two-way telephonic mode, which only offers mono, telephone quality sound. However, the error you are currently seeing seems to point to a deeper problem.

Could you run our diagnostic program? It will gather device information and installation logs that will help me understand what is happening.

To do this, please plug the adapter into your computer, then go to this page, and follow the instructions there:

When you run the program, it will create a zip file on your desktop with your computer name and the date. Please send that file directly to our support email address support@plugable.com

Please put “For Ticket #192519” in the subject line.

Of course it it turns out something is wrong with the adapter, we will get a replacement out to you right away.
