Bluetooth Adapter low sound quality

I have the Plugable Bluetooth USB 2.0 adapter 4.0, and after a while, the audio quality became very poor on my headphones. This does not happen on other devices. The drivers are the latest version. What is the issue?

Typically low quality comes about either because something is changing the quality of sound in the computer, or because something is affecting the signal from the Bluetooth to the headphones.

Could you tell answer a few questions that will help me understand the situation?

  1. In what way is the quality bad? For example is the sound weak, distorted, tinny sounding, or is there stuttering or disconnections?

  2. What is the brand and model of your headphones?

  3. What version of Windows do you have?
