I bought the ULTC4K which seems to be the top end of the docks and connected it to my M2 Macbook Air and then added two external monitors with displayport cables and I’m very happy to have them all working. However, all streaming services quit working. I get sound but black screens. Even directly on the Macbook it no longer works unless I unplug the dock. This seems like a pretty basic issue but I have yet to find a solution. I’d sure appreciate some help. Thanks!

Thank you for contacting Plugable! I’m sorry the UD-ULTC4K isn’t working as expected, and I’ll be happy to assist with your question.
I’m afraid the behaviour you’re seeing is expected with this product. Since the UD-ULTC4K uses DisplayLink technology to connect two of the three displays, it is unable to play back protected content from websites like Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, etc. This is because DisplayLink does not support HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection). Unfortunately there is no way to change this behaviour.

Well that sucks. I know it’s not your product’s fault so does that just mean there is no way to hook two monitors to an M2 and support streaming?

I’m afraid I don’t know of a way to do that. The issue we’re facing is that Macs with the base M2 chip only support a single external display on their own, so it’s necessary to use USB graphics technology work around that limitation in order to connect more external monitors.
This generally works quite well, but it does have its drawbacks including the fact that the presence of a USB graphics adapter on the system causes protected content to not play back correctly.
