Adaptors for xps 13 to triple 4K dock

Hi, I am buying an xps 13 and want to connect three monitors to it. The triple 4K dock sounds perfect. What adaptors do I need to connect my monitors, which all have HDMI, to the dock?

Hello Ed,

Thank you for contacting Plugable support! I’d be more than happy to assist you.

Our UD-ULTC4K dock can support three HDMI monitors with the use of:

  • 1x HDMI to HDMI cable to the 4K HDMI port on the dock
  • 2x DP to HDMI adapters to the DP ports on the dock (for resolutions greater than 1080p you will need to use an active adapter) + 2x HDMI to HDMI cables

We make both passive and active DP to HDMI adapters and they can be found on our products page here:

Please don’t hesitate to let us know of other questions.

Thanks again for contacting Plugable support and best wishes!

Update: please ignore the following question - it seems that the monitor is faulty. Although it is receiving power, it is not receiving a signal from the PC and dock.

Thanks for your reply; I purchased active adapters and cables as suggested, but the HDMI output to an HP monitor, via an HDMI cable terminating in an active adapter to the DP input port in the monitor is not working at all.

The other HP monitors is connected to the hub via a DP outlet with an HDMI cable - also with another adapter at the monitor end. It works fine.

Thanks for the update and sorry to hear about the monitor. Happy to help further if you encounter any more issues!

Thanks,
David W.
