I have a new 34” Samsung monitor which has 21:9 aspect ratio, and needs a 3440x1440 resolution option… for whatever reason, mine doesn’t seem to have that option. Is it the pluggable docking station I got, or is it this old laptop? The monitor works fine at full resolution connected to a new Mac Mini (not through the dock).
Hi Matt,
Thank you for contacting Plugable! I’m sorry the UD-ULTCDL isn’t working as expected, and I’ll be happy to assist.
Unfortunately the UD-ULTCDL doesn’t support 3440x1440 on any of its video output ports as described in this Knowledge Base article on our website: https://kb.plugable.com/question/3359897
Since this resolution is unavailable when using UD-ULTCDL, you may opt to return it to the original place of purchase for a refund. We do sell alternative docks which support up to 4K 60Hz on all of their video outputs such as the UD-ULTC4K: https://plugable.com/products/ud-ultc4k/ This may be a better option for your specific monitor.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
My apologies for the frustration, and thank you for giving us the chance to help.

Hey! I appreciate the clarity and the direction you provided. I’m just trying to figure things out; it looks like this isn’t the product for me but maybe a higher end one will work as you suggest. Matt
Happy to help Matt, and sorry again for the trouble. Please feel free to reach out again if there’s anything else we can help with!
