I recently purchased a Plugable USB-C docking station from Amazon.
I have a 13” MacbookPro 2016, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports, Touchbar.
I have 2ea HP 23es 23” LED Displays, both connected via HDMI cables to the back of the Plugable dock.
I am using the setup in a closed clamshell mode in my office.
I currently use the IDENTICAL setup at home, but I’m using the standard USB-C to HDMI Multiport Adapter from Apple, along with an external DisplayLink USB to HDMI cable and it works perfectly.
I am having an issue with the Plugable dock where everything just goes blank. I have to disconnect the USB-C cable from the Mac, open the screen on the laptop, then reconnect.
Within about 5 minutes, the 2 screens go blank and I need to disconnect and start over again.
I did the recent DisplayLink update from Feb 3rd and it did not fix the issue.
If I run only 1 external monitor (doesn’t matter if it’s the 4k output or the 2k output) it works fine. Only issue comes up when I connect both.
Please help, at this point, I’ll need to return the unit.
