1920x1200 display coming up with degraded resolution

I have twin iiyama 1920x1200 displays (slightly different models) - both work when plugged into my laptop.

When the VGA one (PLE2607WS) is plugged into the plugable 3900 I get 1680x1050 (Recommended), with an option to go to 1920x1080 - but not the full resolution.

I am using the DVI/VGA adaptor. My monitor does support DVI. If I bought a DVI cable would I be able to get the full 1920x1200 resolution?

Is it me? Is it you? is there anything I can do?

According to Amazon, “If dual displays are connected, each will be limited to a maximum resolution of 1920x1200.”

Hello John,

Thanks for the post! I’m sorry your docking station isn’t working as expected. I am happy to help.

I’d like to start by getting just a little more information. We have a troubleshooting tool that helps us find out what is going on in situations like this. Please plug the device into your computer, then go to this page and follow the instructions there:

http://plugable.com/support/plugdebug

If you wouldn’t mind, please send the output of our tool to support@plugable.com and reference “Ticket #178543” in the subject line. This will go a long way towards helping us determine the cause of the issue.

Thank you!

Raul - done! I had the problem device plugged in and ran the utility from an admin account. Thanks, John

A DVI cable arrived this morning and 1920x1200 goodness has been restored.

Seeing as my VGA-to-laptop was good before I am tempted to surmise that the Plugable VGA-DVI adaptor is the culprit - or, at least, the straw that broke the camel’s back.

We’re all good now.

Hello .
