I am attaching the plugable 10 port powered hub to a a computer running Debian. I will be attaching 9 external drives to the hub. I would like for each drive to get a specific letter assigned to it, sda - sdi. I am hoping you can tell me the order I can expect the ports and attached drives to become available to the computer. I have accomplished this with other hubs with time consuming trial and error.

USB hubs can’t control or affect drive letter assignment.
You would need to use udev rules, like this:

But we can’t recommend that kind of thing, except for advanced users.
