why does windows 8 not see the 10 port hub.? The blue light comes on, but nothing works on any of its 10 connections. Also, on the windows-7 computer it kills the neighboring usb port already working with a USBUART. When I unplug the hub, the previously working port on my computer starts working again.
Hi Jerome,
Sorry for the bad experience! The one thing I’d double-check is whether the 10-port hub’s power adapter is connected - otherwise there isn’t enough power to go around.
The quickest way to check that is to unplug the usb connection from hub to PC (so the hub can’t get power from the USB connection to the PC), and verify that the blue LED bar on the hub is lit – it will be if the hub’s own power is connected.
If the power adapter is connected and you’re still seeing those behaviors, just email your Amazon order # to support@plugable.com and we’ll take care of everything.
Again, my apologies and thanks for your patience!
