I have done everything I can imagine to do to get the USB/serial cable to work with my device. Yaesu ft-950 radio. Comport is installed using the latest driver from your website. The ID utility says it is the correct chip. (PL2303 HX Rev D) It is com 3,9600.N,8,1. Windows 8 just wont talk to the radio. I had no problems on XP using the old Prolific cable. Got any suggestions.
Hi John-
Thanks for posting with your question and with great details on your setup!
First I’d recommend double checking your baud rate, flow control, etc. settings for the usb-serial adapter. One resource recommends the following:
“Make sure the cable is connected correctly, the COM port selection is correct, and the Bits per second default is set to 9600”
Unfortunately I didn’t find a similar document with recommended settings from Yaesu, but checking with them might help.
There’s a good thread below describing some of the relevant settings, with a reminder that you can’t have more than one application accessing the device on a given com port at a time.

I hope this helps but please let me know if you have other questions!
Best wishes-
