Win 7 Displaylink Update failed - "Cannot connect to Microsoft Update Server"

I was offered an update for Displaylink today on my Pc (Dell i7 7GB RAM 2x750GB HDD with Seagate Dashboard on Seagate Desktop 4TB HDD) with UD3000 current version 7.7.60366.0 - The update failed to find or install the necessary drivers. My Pc reports Microsoft failure 800706BE but Microsoft shows no solution to this failure.
My Displaylink is running but the updatre did not install successfully
Please help

Hi Will,

Sorry to hear about the issues. We’ll want to proceed with a clean installation of the drivers to see if that helps get things back in a good state.

Here are the steps for the clean installation:

-Disconnect the dock from the computer, and unplug the power to the dock

-Uninstall DisplayLink Core software from Control Panel->Programs. Don’t worry if this fails, just move onto the next step

-Download and run the DisplayLink cleaner tool, found here:
http://displaylink.com/techsupport_fi…

-Once the Cleaner has been run, reboot (even if not prompted to)

-Download and run the latest DisplayLink software, found here:
http://www.displaylink.com/support/sl…

-Reboot, even if not prompted to

-Once you’re back in Windows, reattach the dock which should trigger the final phase of the installation

If things still aren’t working after the above, could you please collect system logs using the tool from the page below and email the debugging file to support@plugable.com for us to have a look?

Thanks!
