Windows unable to install driver but at the same time says the latest driver is installed

Thanks for contacting Plugable Support, we’ll be able to help. Here’s a link to a page with instructions for installing the USB to Serial cable on Windows 7.

Following the instructions at the page above will walk you through the process of installing the drivers and getting the COM port assigned correctly. Once the device is showing up in Device Manager, you’ll need to configure the settings in the software package you want to communicate with to use the correct COM port.

The code 31 error was resolved by connecting the serial port adapter to another USB port.
