Why does my UD-3900 USB 3 not achieve 1 gbps ethernet connection speed?

I have two computers connected to our home 1 Gbps ethernet network via UD-3900s. One shows a speed of 1 Gpbs and the other 100.0 Mpbs. What would cause the different speeds. They are both connected to the same router via the same switch.

Hi Tom, thanks for posting and for the description of the issue you are seeing. There can be a lot of variables that can affect the network speed through the dock, and although you do not mention the specific model of systems you are using, the first thing to double-check is that the unit is connected to a USB 3.0 port for best performance.

Another quick test that can be preformed is to swap the Ethernet cable being used with the setup that is achieving Gigabit speeds to see if the behavior seems to follow the dock/system combination or the specific network cables.

Thank you,

David W.
