I’m using Audacity 2.1.2 to record from an Olympus Pearlrecorder S701 microcassette recorder. I’ve not been able to get sound recorded through my sound card (tried for weeks), so I’m now using the Plugable USB Adapter. In Audacity, the waveform indicator is almost a straight line, yet the gauges for input are showing activity. My computer settings for audio are almost maxed out (97%), the USB Audio Device properties dialog box say the device is enabled and “working properly.” I have my system set to used the USB Audio Device for both input and output. I’m on a Gateway DX4860 running Win 10. This should be an easy project that has instead frustrated me for weeks! Any suggestions?
