USB2-E1000 not working with 10.8.4

I followed all the instructions (http://plugable.com/2011/07/27/howto-…) for installing the USB2-E1000 on my MacBook and it still won’t work. Note that when I ran Kextstat, I got
114 0 0xffffff7f81f2f000 0x9000 0x9000 com.apple.driver.AppleUSBGigEthernet (3.9.0)

Which is not the same version as the guide indicated.
I’m running on 10.8.4
