USB2-E100 Ethernet Adapter on HP Stream 7 Tablet (Win 8.1 32 bit) "Not recognized device"

Dear Plugable,

I just bought an HP Stream 7 (Win 8.1, 32-bit). It only has built-in Wifi
and Bluetooth support. I however want to use a wired Ethernet connection by
plugging your product (USB2-E100) into a Cable Matters Micro-USB 2.0
On-The-Go (OTG) Adapter, which connects the mini-USB to the USB of your
product.

I have tried and tried to get this to work but have not been successful.
When I install the drivers for Win 8.1 (32-bit) my Tablet states that the
software is correctly installed. However, Windows only sees the Plugable
product as an Unknown device (error code 43)

Please tell me if you believe that your product should work with this
product, given the available generation of Win 8.1 drivers. I understand
that some problems have been reported with 8.1 drivers.

If you know of a different Plugable product that absolutely is confirmed to
work with this HP product, please identify it.

Thank you in advance for your help.
