Hi. I’m trying to help a friend, an older lady who damaged the vga port on her older Dell desktop because she didn’t know how to removed the vga cable. I hooked everything back up for her, but the monitor does not seem to get a good connection via the tower’s vga port (which is all wiggly now) and has no display. Since it seems the the tower can no longer be connected to the monitor via straight vga, I’m wondering if your USB 2.0 to VGA would be able to get a display back on her monitor.
Hello,
It is a good possibility this could work.
To ensure the system is compatible with the necessary DisplayLink driver, please run the “System Compatibility Check Tool” via this site here -> http://support.displaylink.com/knowle….
If the system is compatible/passes you can get further information on the USB-VGA-165 from here ->http://plugable.com/products/usb-vga-165.

Unfortunately, since the vga port on the computer tower is damaged, I have no way to hook up the monitor and run the test to see if the system is compatible.
You need to also install the driver before using the display adapter, so this is not an ideal solution for you. I apologize for the inconvenience.
