USB-C port on front

Does the USB-C port on the front of the TBT3-UDZ also charge like the Kensington SD5600T does?

These two models look nearly identical so are they basically the same unit but maybe different firmwares?

I’m trying to decide on which one to purchase. The Plugable unit is less expensive but the front USB-C port on the Kensington charges and it comes with a longer warranty but I really like Plugable!!! Decisions, decisions…

Thank you for contacting Plugable support! I’d be more than happy to assist you.

I can’t comment about the details of the Kensington unit, but I can say our dock front USB-C port does not offer charging, only standard 900mA USB 3.x power output. The front USB-A port does offer up to 1.5A for BC 1.2 charging.

If you need charging from the front C port, it would seem the Kensington product may better fit your needs.
