USB-BT4LE Ubuntu 14.04 Device descriptor read error

Hi there, I’ve been trying to solve this issue for a while now but I can’t seem to figure it out. When I plug the ble dongle into a linux machine, sometimes it doesn’t enumerate. It can’t read the device and then it shuts down.

dmesg:
[444.165133] usb 2-1.3: USB disconnect, device number 19
[723.158027] usb 2-1.2: new full-speed USB device number 20 using ehci-pci

I’ve tried everything from changing the usb autosuspend to -1 which doesn’t work to installing every driver possible. I switched hcid off as well but it still won’t work. Thanks.

Hello Alex,

Thank your for contacting Plugable Support! I apologize for the issues you are encountering with our Bluetooth adapter under Ubuntu 14.04, but you’ve come to the right place. We are here to help!

I am having a hard time reproducing this issue, could you give me any more pointers on when you are noticing this behaviour?

Sincerely,
Ivan
Plugable Support

Hi Ivan, I figured out the issue. The device itself stopped properly functioning, ie a hardware failure. I already contacted support about this seperately. Thanks.
