UGA-3000 vs. UGA-2KHDMI

when wanting to power a 480k monitor, in this case my Vizio TV, which has HDMI input, would I use the UGA-3000 or UGA-2kHDMI adaptor from my Surface Pro 4 docking station?

Hi Matthew,

Thanks for posting and I will be happy to help! Can you let us know the specific model of Vizio TV you are using? I do not know what you mean by ‘480K monitor’ but assuming you are meaning that it is a 4K capable TV and you wish to obtain the 4K resolution as well as play audio from your TV, you will want to use our UGA-4KHDMI adapter in this instance. If you do not require a 4K resolution but still wish to lay audio, our UGA-2KHDMI adapter would be best. The UGA-3000 adapter is not able to transfer an audio signal as it is cannot natively connect to a HDMI cable like our UGA-2KHDMI and UGA-4KHDMI adapters, but it does come with a DVI to HDMI adapter in order to connect to an HDMI display.

I hope this helps!

Thank you,

David W.
