UD-3900 not working with Dell Venue 10 Pro

When I try to install the drivers to my newly purchased Plugable UD-3900 on my Dell Venue pro 10 (Windows), I get the message below:

When I click on “More Information” I am taken to a page that says something about an error on Window 7. I am not using Windows 7 - I am using Windows 8.1.

My drivers are up to date and this computer is brand new. What is going on?

Hi Todd,

Thanks for posting! I’m sorry the DisplayLink driver for the dock isn’t installing properly. I’d be happy to help.

I know you mentioned your drivers are up to date, but in the instance of the Venue I believe the latest graphics driver is integrated with the Intel Chipset driver package Dell has on their website:

http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/e…

Can you double-check to see if this is installed already (and install it if not) and trying installing the DisplayLink driver again?

Hopefully that resolves the issue. If not, please run our PlugDebug diagnostic utility and send the output to support@plugable.com with ‘Ticket 101072’ in the subject line so we can match everything up and then work with you directly.

Let us know the results when you have a moment and send the PlugDebug file if necessary and we can go from there.

Thank you,

Bob

I actually got it working by going to the dell website and installing the graphics drivers for the chip set. Thanks for your help.

Hi Todd,

Thanks for getting back so quickly. I’m glad the driver install fixed the problem. Let us know if you need any help in the future!

Thanks,

Bob
