Thanks for posting. This is quite an unusual issue. (We’ve seen this happen in some cases with DisplayLink drivers from a year ago, but nothing recently.)
A good place to start will be to have a look at some system log files to see if they shed any light on what’s causing the issue. Can you please run our troubleshooting/log-gathering tool from the link below:

It will save a .ZIP file to your desktop that can be emailed over. Please send it to support@plugable.com, and in the subject put Ticket# 101377.
We’ll have a look at the log files and see what the best steps will be.
