Turns on laptop when power to docking station is cut

Hi,
Anyone experience the laptop waking from sleep when the power to the Plugable docking station is cut ?

i don’t remember that happening with the Toshiba docking station.

thanks.

Hi K,

Thanks for getting in contact with us, I’d be more than happy to answer your question regarding the behavior you are experiencing.

This is likely due to a Windows setting you are using, specifically, when the power to the docking station is cut, the computer registers this as the device (docking station) being disconnected from the computer. There is probably a Windows setting that is set to wake the computer after a USB connection event, like connecting a USB device or disconnecting one. For instance, some USB devices connected to the computer can have the ability to wake the computer from sleep:

Hi, I am using Windows 7. Will you please let me know exactly what to do to make this change ?

Hi,

First, you’ll want to disable the selective suspend feature:

You will need to go into the device manager and look for the ‘Wake from Sleep’ setting under the docking station and disable it.
