Trying to run 10 monitors on one laptop

What is the maximum number of monitors that can be connected to a single laptop using several USB3-3900DHE adapters with two monitors per adapter

Hi David,

Thanks for posting your question here! All our USB Graphics adapters and docks including Plugable USB3-3900DHE have DisplayLink chipset inside. With the latest DisplayLink drivers installed on the system, you can connect more that 10 monitors via DisplayLink based USB Graphics adapters.

Here is a link to our post which also has a video showing 14 External monitors connected via our USB Graphics adapters to a Windows 8.1 system : http://plugable.com/2014/03/10/attach…

Please note that USB Graphics devices are virtual devices that use system resources like CPU and GPU to render the display on the external monitors. So the more powerful the system, the better the performance. And as stated in the post in the link above, if you keep adding more monitors the system gets more bogged down and will affect the performance.

Hope the above information helps! If you need any additional information, please do feel free to shoot us an email at support@plugable.com. We are here to help!

Regards,
Roze
